Overall, my first experience at immersion 1 has been excellent! I can recall Professor Allen said during the immersion, about how this specific group was different. When we all walked into our very first session all of us came in talking to each other as if we’ve know each other very well. We as a group were very sociable. Prior to attending the immersion, I was slightly nervous. However once it started, I was comfortable. There are many memorable moments from this immersion, however the most memorable moment would be when we did a Lego exercise. Yes in my head was I was thinking that I will be playing with Legos, but the message I received from that exercise was amazing- Healthcare now is more focused on patient, themselves, more so educate them so that we can lead them on the right path. This immersion serves as a constant reminder that everyday in the pharmacy, I should be more focused on my patient, and their needs. This course reminds me of how our healthcare system should be but it not quite there. There is much evolution needed in the healthcare which hopefully takes place soon.
