Reflection:

In Module 2 we learned about the value of Health IT, actionable data, and standardization. Health IT can be used as a tool to help solve some health care delivery issues. Data is being collected at an alarming rate but it only adds value when we can manipulate it into information and act on it. Data can be used to make important decisions about services, reducing costs and improving care.  To better understand quality and optimum outcomes that can be achieved within the health care delivery system, data should be standardized and systems integrated so that information is easily accessed at the right time and shared appropriately with the right people.  Barriers include cost, issues of interoperability, and privacy.
