One of the most surprising things that happened this year was when I recognized the value of my classmates. During our first clinical internship I had dinner with one of my classmates. We were reflecting on our professional behaviors in clinic and discussing the best ways to improve and manage those behaviors. It was a wonderful conversation, one that we continue to this day. The reason this was surprising is because reflection has been such a large part of our program, and here we were, out in the real world, and the first time we see each other we begin a reflective dialogue. We’ve created a wonderful network of professionals and friends that can aid us throughout our professional development.
