I'm Jess McCafferty, a student in George Washington University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program.  My interest in physical therapy began while volunteering at the Cincinnati Veteran's Hospital in the acute care setting.  After my experiences with the patients at the VA hospital, I wrote to the GWU DPT program describing my dream to work closely with veterans at Walter Reed or the DC VA Medical Center.  Life paths feel more significant when experiences come full circle, so I'm happy to report this winter I will be completing my final clinical internship with the amputee clinic of the DC VA Medical Center.

Volunteering with an Animal Rescue Shelter Adoption Drive

During my time at GWU I've had the pleasure of working in a multitude of environments and with a variety patient populations.  Some of my favorite experiences involve volunteering my time at the Pro-Bono clinic, donating my energies at local health fairs with my classmates, and my first full-time clinical internship with Johns Hopkins Hospital.  I look forward to more fulfilling experiences as I begin my career.
