For the past year, I have had the honor of working with Dr. Carole Lewis in writing and editing her upcoming e-book, which will allow the owner to not only have easy access to the latest literature, but also be able to click on hyperlinks that will take them TO the articles which are discussed in each chapter.

While this book is in process, I have also been working as Dr. Lewis' research assistant, and it has been an invaluable experience. I think that as a student, the prospect of performing large scale, independent research is daunting to say the least. But having this job has allowed me to gain some understanding of how to find, interpret, and file research as well as provided me with a fairly sizeable library of articles to look back on, and will surely inform the work that I do with older adults in the years to come.

Lastly, and not unrelated, being involved in researching has made me want to be more active in contributing to the other side of the equation; that is, being the research subject. To that end, I have participated as a test subject in a number of clinical trials/ studies over the past few months, including Dr. Jonely's study on low back pain.

All in all, I am much more immersed in research than I ever imagined I would be! Needless to say I am very excited to be involved with all of these projects, and I am especially looking forward to the books' release next year.
